So... Started working on my eResume, used my code for pro version. IT IS AMAZING!! So many features, so many tools, so easy to use! Opted for a clean layout with simple information, and used landscape mode and the best thing is, it's FOLDABLE!!! Really proud of what I did huehue. Take a look here! Do tell me what you think about it, would appreciate any comments. Have a good one! I learned about "Proses Penilaian Media" (Media Evaluation Process) in lecture.
What I think about this is that, WOW! I didn't know so much work goes into choosing an instructional media and the processes that are involved in evaluating whether the media helped achieve the objective set by the instructor. Different stages play a role in different aspects of development and design of the instructional media, but to me, I think that evaluation by professionals would be the most difficult part of the evaluation process. It is hard enough to come up with ideas that are groundbreaking, but to be rejected plenty of times must be devastating, at least for me. When the concept is formed, everything else would fall in place. I have found that it is important to analyze the needs of students, such as their demographic background and their preferred ways of learning to be able to come up with the best instructional media. So hard to be a teacher nowadays.

Hello there. The week after mid semester break. So I was in Thailand, didn't manage to do much of the Open Learning tasks. Class started late so I worked on a couple of the tasks. They are not easy. Read through some of my coursemates' posts and felt like their answers are so short, maybe I'm not used to being the less talkative one in class, I must win even if its online. Haha! Anyways, today focused on how to do my e-resume which I haven't started on yet, and I saw the examples of other's work. So brilliantly done and prettayyyyyy!!! I want mine to be like that. I have a rough idea for mine, not sure when I will be free to start working on it though. Haven't activated my pro version of the Piktochart yet. I want to do a one page, foldable resume, which minimalist design and maybe two-toned. Will update here when I'm done. Get your fingers crossed, diva passing through.
Today's tutorial was cancelled last minute. That's fine, I prefer to work at my own pace. So I went on to discover and start working on the assignments on the Open Learning website, the many modules under the course Teknologi dan Inovasi dalam Pendidikan. MOOC is a great way to learn! As I have experienced in year one, online learning is not unfamiliar to me, I can learn anytime, anywhere! Browsed through the tasks, watched the videos and answered the questions, this process really got me thinking a lot. Technology has changed our lives in so many degrees, sometimes even subconsciously. But I think things are changing for the better, I hope i can gain more and learn more throughout this course and the completion of all the projects! Instructional Design (otherwise known as ID) is the systematic and reflective process in converting teaching and learning theories in the planning of teaching materials, activities, information and evaluation. That's a lot of wording. It is the whole package, from planning to carrying it out all the way to the evaluation. Through this lecture I have learned about ASSURE, ADDIE, ARCS and Morrison, Ross and Kemp's ID Model which are useful for planning instructional approaches in the classroom. ADDIE stands for Analysis (problems, cause, audience and solution), Design (presentation, format, type, measurement), Development (generate materials), Implementation (delivery of instruction) and finally Evaluation (collect, process, analyze and interpret feedback). ASSURE
-Analyze learners -State standards and objectives -Select strategies, technology, media and materials -Require learner participation -Evaluate and revise ASSURE focuses on media selection, which highlights the importance of learner-centered instruction. ARCS -Attention -Relevance -Confidence -Satisfaction I particularly like this model because it really lets me know what to take into consideration when teaching: the learners have to know that they are learning something that is useful for them, hence they would be motivated to learn themselves. Morrison, Ross and Kemp (MRK) This is a very complex one, but it is beneficial because it does not require sequential order, you can alter it according to the students or content. It is a cognitive learning design model that helps teachers in instructional design to conduct lessons that allow learners to generate their own learning and connect information to form knowledge.
Hi, it's me again. So today I have learnt to embed links to my blog, it's so cool!
Get to my Facebook page to know what's going on ;D Had a lot of fun with my new Padlet account and left anonymous messages on my friends' Padlets (teehee!). Also attached is the introduction video of my TESL batch! We did this last year as well. The new one is WAY funnier! Oh and the document is my personal assignment I had done for Basic Wellness sports course on Anaerobic Exercise. Have a read through and enjoy your bumpy ride. Cheers.
En. Mohd Yusof is so cute. He was my lecturer in my first semester for Komputer dalam Pendidikan. He's so bubbly and always smiling. Anyways, today he introduced us to social medias that can be implemented in teaching and learning. Guess I never thought of Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest as platforms that I can use for T&L, but I know that the sky is the limit when it comes to technology. There are already so many useful apps that I can use for teaching in the future, this lecture definitely opened my eyes to the fact that we could use ANYTHING to teach. Cheerios.
